Magenta Bat Detector Kit - This kit uses quality components to make a detector which is very good value for money. It makes a detector which functions well and is ideal for beginners.
Microbat - A small dual-frequency detector, ideal for children because of its easy controls and fun exterior with bats eyes which light up. Simple to use and not tuning required, as it picks up the frequencies of the most common bat species - 26kHz (noctules) and 46kHz (pipstrelles) - only. 1 headphone socket. Takes 9V alkaline battery (included).
Pettersson D-200 - An advanced heterodyne detector combining digital technology with an exceptionally sensitive microphone. It has a fully backlit digital LCD display which provides a very accurate value of the tuned frequency. The controls are on the side of the case, making it easy to adjust in the field.
Magenta MkIII Bat Detector - Developed from the popular MkII, the Magenta MkIII heterodyne bat detector features digital frequency display, high stability, easily tuned local signal oscillator, and advanced amplification and filtering. Using a heterodyne circuit, the incoming ultrasound is filtered then mixed to translate the frequency into the audible range. The quartz-accurate 3-digit red LED displays the frequency, and a light sensor dims the display to give the ideal brightness as light levels change. The microphone is the latest Murata (Japanese) type, and the loudspeaker is a super low profile unit with a weatherproof Mylar cone. The circuit is constructed using surface-mounted components and is compact, stable and reliable.
Batbox III Bat Detector - Excellent value, the Batbox 3 is a high-quality, low-noise detector is used by thousands of naturalists. With components selected for optimum performance and durability, it is a compact, high-fidelity unit, and the backlit frequency control makes it easier to read at night.
Pettersson D-100 Bat Detector - This detector employs three microphones of two types to give maximum sensitivity across its tuneable range. With backlit frequency control for easy reading at night, it is ideal for the first-time user, yet sensistive enough for serious bat research.
Magenta MkIIb Bat Detector - This detector is very good value for money. If this is your first detector this is a good basic detector which makes an economical introduction to bat detecting. This new MkIIb model has improved sensitivity and now also has an output socket for recording.

Model AY/C - A three-element Yagi collapsible antenna, gamma tuned for receiving from longer distances. Heavy duty spring loaded folding elements and pistol grip handle make this the ideal antennae for field work.
Model AW - This is a collapsible wand or stick antenna, used for close work up to 50m. It can pinpoint, to the square inch, hard to locate or buried transmitters.
Model AO - A magnetic-based omni-directional 1 metre whip antenna, designed to sit on the roof of a vehicle and capable of withstanding wind pressure of 100kph
Antenna Booster - Fits exisiting antennae, boosting signals that may be diminished in cables or old receiving equipment. Ideal for towers.
Microprocessor Period/PPM Meter - This CMOS microprocessor-based meter measures the period of pulses from radio transmitters as they vary their repetition rate according to their sensor input (temperature, movement, mortality etc). The 4-digit LCD shows period in two ranges, 0.200 to 9.999 seconds and 10.00 to 59.99 seconds, with pulses per minute in one range of 1-300ppm. The meter autoranges in period mode to select the most accurate range for display purposes. A mode push button turns on the meter initially, and subsequently toggles between display modes of period and pulses per minute. The meter also has an auto-off mode where it will turn itself off after 10 minutes, and a low battery alert.
Period Meter Dongle and Software - An option is available for a PC computer interface in the form of a dongle connected to a spare serial port, and appropriate software running on the computer can be used to upload for screen display and file storage. The screen display gives period and ppm readings. The data files can be processed as spreadsheets or custom programs can be written.
